Some landscapes are places we visit, while others become places we remember. In Through the Canopy, these two experiences begin to merge.
Layered Botanical Photography as Memory
Rather than documenting nature exactly as it appears, Through the Canopy considers how nature is experienced and remembered. Memory rarely preserves every detail perfectly. Instead, it gathers colors, sensations, textures, fragments, and emotions into something more personal than literal.
The layered photographic process reflects that experience. In addition, multiple botanical photographs coexist within a single composition, allowing different viewpoints, moments, and textures to become part of one visual environment.
