Garden Radiance

“Garden Radiance” explores Impressionistic Floral Abstraction through layered color, movement, and emotion. Warm earth tones, vibrant pinks, and soft yellow highlights create an atmosphere that feels energetic yet peaceful. At the same time, the layered colors add depth and movement. I sometimes think I must have been a bee in another life because flowers constantly draw me in. Coneflowers especially capture my attention because their open forms, rich textures, and lively movement seem full of energy. In this image, I express the energy I feel when I stand among blooming gardens and fields. As sunlight moves across the petals, color and motion seem to create their own rhythm.

As I walk through gardens and natural spaces, I photograph flowers from many perspectives and distances. Then I combine those original photographs through layering and digital compositing techniques. Because I work intuitively, the image changes as I build it. As the process continues, bold details emerge while softer textures create balance and depth. In addition, unexpected relationships between shape and color often appear during the process.
