I was born in southeast Baltimore City, Maryland, and photography has been a passion of mine since I was 16. It all started when my future husband gave me my first camera, and from that moment, I was captivated. Over the years, I have explored many areas of photography, including traditional portraits, wedding photography, corporate photography, public relations, and even medical photography.
My educational journey has been extensive. I attended the Baltimore City public school system and pursued formal training in photography through the Baltimore County Community College system, the University of Maryland Baltimore County’s visual arts program, Johns Hopkins University, and the University of Southern New Hampshire. I have earned an associate degree in photography from BCCC, a certificate in medical photography from Johns Hopkins, and a bachelor’s degree in New Media from the University of New Hampshire.
Throughout my career, I have worked with both 35mm and large-format cameras, mastering traditional film photography and printmaking techniques. However, I now focus primarily on digital photography, incorporating image manipulation and custom digital printmaking into my process.
My artistic focus is centered on exploration and experimentation. I am especially drawn to scenes that feature unique lines, vibrant colors, rich textures, and compelling light. Whether these elements come from the built environment or nature’s handiwork, they never fail to inspire me. Photography is my way of interpreting the world, and I am always looking for new ways to push creative boundaries while maintaining a deep appreciation for the art form’s evolution.”
