Our Materials & Process

Every limited edition print by Brenda Kay Welty is crafted with archival‑quality materials to ensure visual brilliance and longevity.

Premium Fine Art Papers

We print on Red River’s finest archival photo and fine art papers. Sourced from top global mills, these papers deliver exceptional color and texture—lasting up to 200 years under proper conditions.

Archival papers resist yellowing and degradation—perfect for collectors and long-term display.

Canon Lucia Pro II Pigment Ink

We use Canon’s newest pigment‑based inks, offering superior fade resistance and rich color vibrance. Color prints can last up to 200 years, while black & white prints may last even longer under proper storage.

These inks resist UV exposure and humidity—making them ideal for archival preservation.

Hand Printed by the Artist

Every limited edition is hand‑printed by Brenda Kay Welty on the Canon PRO‑1100, Canon’s 12‑ink Lucia Pro II printer. It offers outstanding color fidelity, depth, and consistency—delivering true gallery‑quality prints.

Conservation Mat & Backing

We use 100% virgin alpha‑cellulose mat boards and backers that are acid‑free, lignin‑free, and buffered with calcium carbonate. These meet Fine Art Trade Guild conservation standards, offering fade‑ and bleed‑resistance. While regular mats might last 5-25 years, conservation mats are expected to last for decades, often 50 years or more, with some estimates suggesting a lifespan of 50-150 years.

Solid Wood Frames by US Art Frames

These frames are handmade in Georgia from solid poplar wood—chosen for its durability and lower acidity range compared to other species like oak, cedar, or hemlock. Our studio (Brenda Welty Photography) applies a seal tape to the  rabbit of these frame, to create a barrier against any acids and moisture. This helps protect the artwork from damage and helps extends its lifespan. Crafted with attention to detail, these frames provide a safe, refined presentation.

Archival Framing Materials by Lineco

We complete our archival framing with Lineco’s professional-grade tapes, adhesives, sealing materials, and backing papers. Made in the USA and meeting Library of Congress standards, these materials help minimize off‑gassing and protect your artwork. By sealing the rabbet, you create a protective barrier that helps preserve your artwork for years to come.

Every print is crafted to the highest standards—for collectors, galleries, and future generations.
